I am the administrator at Peniel Baptist Academy. I became acquainted with Peniel Baptist Church and Academy nine years ago when my husband and I moved to the area. Both of my sons attended the AWANA program that is sponsored by the church and were recipients of the Citation Awards. (My sons also were welcomed by the academy each year as they took the Stanford Achievement Tests and, more recently, the PSATs.) On Wednesday nights, our attendance was so regular that I was often referred to as Peniel's "Wednesday-night Member!"
With both of my sons now in college, I became interested in substitute teaching at the academy. When asked about my willingness to counsel with the high school students, I immediately said, "Yes!" Having gone through the college search and admissions process recently, I look forward to sharing my "lessons learned" with both students and parents. In addition, I am a veteran of the U.S. Army and have a master's degree in education. For these and other reasons, I believe that I will be able to assist you and your family as you plan for the future.
I have an open-door policy when it comes to talking with students and their parents. Please feel free to contact me with whatever concerns you may have.
