Class of 2022 - Peniel Baptist Academy

We want to Celebrate two of our seniors. Our current policy says that the senior with the highest GPA is the Valedictorian. Congratulations to Rylee Romay, she has the highest weighted GPA and congratulations to Eli Tincher, he has the highest Unweighted GPA. As of graduation Eli had the highest in both categories and was named the Valedictorian and Rylee was named the Salutatorian. Unfortunately, at that point two college classes were not finished and we had to make the decision based on the current grades. After graduation, the final grades were received and one of the grades changed. This affected both the weighted GPA and the unweighted GPA of that student. The result was that Rylee now had the highest weighted GPA, but the change in unweighted GPA’s was not enough to change who had the highest Unweighted GPA and Eli still had the highest Unweighted GPA. Since our policy does not address this, but merely states “highest GPA” the School Board has decided to award both students as Valedictorians of the class of 2022. Congratulations Rylee and Eli!
